We support plotting of Conference Posters and Design Panels. For information on printable sizes please call the GIS-RS Center at (305) 348-6443 or 348-1971
Printing Sizes
The shortest edge of the printable area must not exceed 58 inches. When we prepare the document for printing, we add a one (1) inch margin around the document (one inch top, bottom, left and right).
Poster layout should be made to actual final print size. Text and images should be kept to at least 1 inch from the edge of the poster.
Poster Cost
Payments need to be made in advance either by Requisition Form or Personal Checks, made out to Library GIS Center. We do not accept Cash or Credit Cards.
Print price of posters is $1.80 multiplied by the running length of the paper. Posters with solid backgrounds and large solid frames will be printed at $2.16 due to the greater usage of ink.
For example, a PowerPoint document with dimensions of 36 inches width by 56 inches height will cost $68.40 (36 x 1.80) OR $77.76 (36 x 2.16) if it uses a dark or color background.

Additional services by GIS-RS Center staff, such as restructuring of document, will require an additional fee of $50 an hour -- so be sure to size the poster correctly.
File Format
Posters are usually done in PowerPoint format, although Acrobat PDF or Photoshop files may be accepted if necessary.
The lab requires that posters to be printed be brought in at least a day in advance.
For larger quantities, posters should be brought a couple of days in advance to ensure enough time for drying and cropping.
Paper and Color
Color printing is done on High Gloss Photo paper. Semi-Gloss or other paper types are available upon request.
NOTE: Differences in color may appear from one device to another (from displays to laser or ink jet printers) resulting in slight color shifting.
We offer affordable printing as a service to the students and the university community and do not guarantee 100% color accuracy. Reprints are offered at full price.
