Course Objectives
This is an introduction to hands-on research in earth sciences that can be transfered to middle school and high school classrooms. Students spend half- to one-day sessions with professors in their labs or in the field.
Schedule of Sessions
Course Policies
Students are expected to be on time and to stay until activities are completed. Professors will describe at the beginning of their sessions what is expected of students, including the basis for grading. Excused absences must be well documented (e.g., doctor’s note).
Grading
Each faculty instructor will assign a grade to students for the session(s) based on an assignment or exam. Students will be evaluated by each professor on the basis of a graded assignment or exam, whichever each professor chooses. The grades submitted by the professors will be averaged by Dr. Collins (course coordinator) to determine the final grade.
